Fabrication Welder

OneStaff is looking for a skilled and safety-focused Fabrication Welder to join our client’s manufacturing team.


This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working with their tools, takes pride in quality workmanship, and likes finding practical solutions to engineering and equipment challenges.


You’ll work across both the workshop and manufacturing sites, fabricating, maintaining and improving production equipment while helping keep the operation running safely and efficiently.


What You'll Be Doing

  • Working Monday to Friday on day shift, with an odd Saturday with immediate starts available
  • Fabricating and assembling production equipment for manufacturing sites
  • Performing ARC, MIG and TIG welding, including stainless-steel fabrication
  • Operating workshop machinery including lathes, mills, presses and other equipment
  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
  • Troubleshooting equipment and workshop issues and developing practical solutions
  • Carrying out general fabrication, some maintenance
  • Working with hydraulics and other mechanical systems where required
  • Ordering materials, managing spare parts and maintaining workshop stock
  • Keeping the workshop clean, organised and safe
  • Working between the workshop and manufacturing sites as required


What You'll Bring

  • Certified Welder with strong experience across ARC, MIG, TIG and stainless-steel welding
  • Confident operating a lathe, mill and press
  • Experience working in a fitter/fabrication workshop environment
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • A mechanically minded, practical and solutions-focused approach
  • Experience with industrial machinery, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems or CAD would be an advantage
  • Full NZ Class 1 Driver Licence
  • Current forklift/hoist certification and experience is preferred; we can assist with renewing your certification where required


Pre-Employment Requirements
