About the role

Fable Dunedin Hotel is an award-winning luxury hotel in the heart of Dunedin Central.

This stunning boutique hotel is looking for a passionate Guest Service Agent to help our Front Office team in delivering outstanding guest service experience at the forefront of the Hotel.

You will be responsible for assisting guests upon their arrival and departure, as well as registering and checking guests in and out.

The right person for this role consistently has a proactive attitude towards our guests, making them feel special and naturally welcome to our hotel. You have a passion to provide excellent customer services and strive to improve on your services. This position will give you the unique opportunity to engage with a variety of guests, both from New Zealand and internationally who have high expectations around quality, personal and unique experiences.


Key responsibilities:

  • Ensure an efficient and professional reception experience for guests
  • Handle daily guest check-in and check-out
  • Attending to calls and reservation emails
  • Cash handling and  basic payment auditing
  • Handle guest complaints efficiently & effectively
  • Ensure that the Front Office Manager/Operations Manager is kept fully aware of any relevant feedback from guests and other departments
  • Demonstrate and maintain high levels of customer service
  • Maintaining cleanliness of the Front Desk and other areas of the hotel
  • Follow company brand standards


Requirements and Skills:

  • Previous guest services experience in a similar role, preferably in a hotel environment
  • A positive, reliable, charismatic and can-do attitude
  • Excellent communication skills and good computer skills
  • Ability to connect and engage with a diverse set of audience
  • Outstanding attention to detail and accuracy
  • Calm, efficient, and excellent problem-solving skills
  • Proven success in a busy, high-pressure environment
  • Ability to multi-task
  • A Full NZ Driver's License
  • Current eligibility to work in New Zealand (NZ Citizen, Resident, or Holder of Valid Open Work Visa only)
  • Hospitality qualification preferred
  • Flexibility to work on a rotating roster across Front Office and Concierge departments, including morning and evening shifts, weekends and public holidays.
