Job Description

Looking for your first step into finance, payroll or accounts, but finding every “entry-level” role somehow wants experience?

We’re looking for someone who’s organised, accurate and keen to learn to join our finance team based at our Te Rapa Road office in Hamilton. You don’t need previous experience in finance, HR or payroll. We’ll teach you what you need to know and give you the support to build your skills as you go.

Remarkable People is a New Zealand-owned recruitment and labour hire business that’s been connecting great people with great work since 2016. With branches across the country, there’s plenty happening behind the scenes, and our finance team plays a big part in keeping it all moving.

What you'll be doing

You'll support three areas, working closely with our Chief Finance Officer and Payroll Officer:

  • Finance administration — processing supplier invoices, raising client invoices, bank reconciliations, new client set-up, and keeping the accounts inbox moving
  • HR administration — preparing employment paperwork from our templates, maintaining staff records and files, and keeping our systems up to date
  • Payroll support — loading new starters, chasing timesheets, processing leave, and helping with the weekly payroll run

No two days look quite the same, and you'll never be stuck doing one thing all week.

What you'll bring

  • Real attention to detail — in this role, accurate matters more than fast
  • Good organisation, and the ability to juggle a few things at once
  • A professional, friendly manner with staff, candidates and clients
  • Discretion, because you'll be handling confidential employee and payroll information
  • Confidence with Excel and Outlook
  • A willingness to learn our systems — full training provided

Any admin, accounts or payroll experience is a bonus, not a requirement. If you've studied business, accounting or HR, or you're part-way through, we'd like to hear from you.

What we offer

  • 30 hours per week, with flexibility around how those hours are worked — this could suit school hours
  • Full training and genuine support from a team that wants you to succeed
  • Real variety across finance, HR and payroll
  • A friendly, down-to-earth team in our Hamilton office
