The Opportunity

Leading a team of approximately nine people within a business of around 50 employees, you’ll oversee day-to-day print production, ensuring jobs are planned effectively, quality standards are maintained and customer deadlines are met.

  • Manage production planning, scheduling, workflow and resource allocation.
  • Identify opportunities to improve productivity, quality and equipment performance.
  • Coordinate preventative maintenance programmes with external contractors.
  • Oversee purchasing and stock requirements.
  • Contribute to health and safety, quality and food safety compliance, including ISO 9001, ISO 45001 and BRC requirements.
  • Work with senior management on equipment, technology and capital investment decisions.

What You’ll Bring

You’ll be an experienced print professional who combines sound technical knowledge with practical leadership and a continuous improvement mindset.

Ideally, you’ll bring:

  • A solid background in print production, with experience in a production leadership or supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of printing processes, machinery and production workflows.
  • Experience in production planning, scheduling and resource management.
  • Proven people leadership skills and the ability to build trust within a diverse team.
  • A practical, methodical approach to problem-solving and operational improvement.
  • Experience with purchasing, stock control, maintenance coordination and compliance.
  • Strong computer skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent communication, organisation and decision-making skills.
  • Knowledge of food safety, BRC standards and quality management systems.

Flexographic label-printing experience is strongly preferred , particularly narrow or wide web. Candidates from other print disciplines with the right technical understanding and strong production leadership experience will also be considered.

You won’t need to operate the presses yourself, but you will need the technical credibility to work confidently alongside experienced printers and make informed decisions.
