On their behalf, we are looking for an experienced marine technical professional to join their business as National Service Manager – Power Equipment & Marine .

This is a key technical role supporting Honda’s nationwide dealer network across its power equipment and marine divisions. C ombining technical expertise with dealer support, training and development, you will help maintain Honda's reputation for technical excellence and customer service.

Working closely with dealers, factories, suppliers and internal teams, you will diagnose complex issues, provide specialist technical advice and strengthen the technical capabilities of Honda's dealer network.

We are looking for someone who really knows their way around a marine engine, enjoys solving challenging technical problems and gets satisfaction from sharing their knowledge with others. You will be just as comfortable engaging with people as you are working hands-on with marine engines and power equipment .

As the National Service Manager, you will:

  • Provide specialist technical advice and troubleshooting support to Honda's nationwide dealer network across its Marine and Power Equipment ranges, resolving complex diagnostics and product issues.
  • Carry out hands-on assessments of failed engines and components, investigating faults, preparing technical reports and recommending practical solutions.
  • Undertake Engine Match Testing (EMT) for engines used in OEM applications, assessing performance and suitability using specialised testing equipment.
  • Liaise with Honda Motor Japan, factories and suppliers on technical matters, product performance, quality issues and testing requirements.
  • Manage product recalls, service campaigns and technical updates, ensuring requirements are communicated and implemented across the dealer network.
  • Prepare technical bulletins and maintain up-to-date service information and resources.
  • Develop and deliver technical training to dealers, strengthening their diagnostic skills, product knowledge and service capabilities.

  • Manage the specialised service tooling library, ensuring tooling records are current, loan tooling is appropriately controlled.
  • Work closely with Sales and Customer Service teams to resolve technical enquiries and support customers.
  • Maintain accurate technical records and promote high standards of workmanship, quality and safety.

About You:

Your background in marine engines is key to this role. You may be an experienced Workshop Foreman or Marine Service Manager, ready to take the next step into a broader technical support and leadership position.

  • Strong hands-on marine technical experience, particularly with outboard engines, and advanced mechanical aptitude and diagnostic skills.
  • A relevant Marine Outboard Technician qualification, Trade Certificate, A Grade certification or equivalent.
  • Proven ability to diagnose complex mechanical problems, investigate faults and develop practical solutions.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to explain technical information clearly to dealers, customers and colleagues.
  • Strong written communication skills, including preparing technical reports, service information and bulletins.
  • Good planning, organisational and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage competing demands.
  • Competence in Microsoft Office and technical record management.
  • A practical, solutions-focused attitude, sound judgement and a commitment to excellent customer service.
  • The ability to travel nationally when required.

While power equipment experience would be an advantage, it is not essential. Strong marine technical expertise is the priority, and training will be provided across Honda's Power Equipment range.

Rewards:

  • An attractive senior-level remuneration package, including a 6-figure base salary and company car.
  • Health insurance for you, with discounted family cover, including pre-existing conditions.
  • Income protection, trauma and life insurance benefits.
  • Represent a world-leading brand recognised for quality, reliability and innovation.
  • Enjoy a varied national role combining technical expertise, dealer support, training and people development.
