Job Description

We’re looking for an experienced Drainlayer ready to take the next step in their career and lead a team across a range of projects.

This is a hands-on leadership position where you’ll take responsibility for jobs on site, provide direction to a small team, and work closely with clients, site managers and the wider plumbing team to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Lead and provide direction to a small team on site
  • Take accountability for assigned jobs and ensure work is completed on time and to a high standard
  • Complete hands-on drainage and plumbing work as required
  • Liaise confidently with clients, site managers and suppliers
  • Mentor and support apprentices, helping develop their skills and knowledge
  • Maintain high standards of workmanship, quality and compliance
  • Identify and communicate any issues, delays or requirements to the Plumbing Manager
  • Ensure health and safety procedures are followed across all sites
  • Keep job information, site notes, photos and materials accurately recorded
  • Help create a positive, productive and supportive team culture


What We're Looking For

  • Registered or Certified Drainlayer – ideally registered, but certified candidates will be considered
  • Experienced commercial plumbers with strong drainage experience are also encouraged to apply
  • Previous experience leading or providing direction to a team is preferred
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Confident liaising with site managers, clients and other trades
  • A high standard of workmanship and attention to detail
  • Reliable, organised and able to take ownership of projects
  • A positive attitude and willingness to mentor others
  • Class 2 licence is a bonus
  • Excavator/digger operating experience is advantageous
