Job Description

Lead QA on a major Hawke's Bay solar farm. Establish quality systems, drive compliance, and support project delivery across all construction scopes.

Our client is delivering the first phase of a Hawkes Bay solar farm, a significant renewable energy project where the client is self-performing all civil, mechanical, and electrical scopes.


They are seeking a QA Lead on a temporary assignment for six months to establish and lead quality assurance across the site. This is a hands-on, site-based leadership role that will shape the quality standards and compliance framework for the project from the ground up.

  • Lead quality assurance strategy and execution across civil, mechanical, and electrical works on a major solar farm development
  • Six-month temporary assignment based on site in the Hawkes Bay, with direct responsibility for QA systems and team support
  • Opportunity to establish quality frameworks and processes for a self-performing contractor on a high-profile renewable energy project

Preferred Requirements

  • Proven quality assurance experience in construction or heavy engineering, with demonstrated site leadership capability
  • Strong knowledge of QA processes, testing protocols, and compliance documentation across multiple trades
  • Experience managing quality on projects involving civil, mechanical, and electrical disciplines
  • Ability to lead and mentor QA teams, establish inspection schedules, and drive compliance across site
  • Familiarity with renewable energy or large-scale infrastructure projects is advantageous

Preferred Qualifications

  • Formal qualification in Quality Assurance, Engineering, or Construction Management
  • Current certification in quality management systems (ISO 9001 or equivalent)
  • Previous experience in a QA leadership or supervisory role on construction or infrastructure projects
