Survey Techncian, Brisbane, $95,000 - $110,000 AUD + Super + Vehicle


The Company


Our client is seeking a Survey Technician to support the accurate delivery of survey services across civil construction projects across South East Queensland.


This is a hands‑on role suited to someone who enjoys site‑based work, working closely with experienced survey professionals, and developing their technical skills in a supportive team environment.

The Role


The Survey Technician will assist with survey set‑out, pick‑up (as‑built), and data collection activities on active construction sites.


Working under the guidance of Senior or Lead Surveyors, the role involves operating survey equipment, capturing and managing field data, and supporting the preparation of digital plans and models.


You will also contribute to a positive team culture, clear communication on site, and safe, quality project delivery.

  • Assist with survey set‑out and pick‑up using total stations, GNSS, and other field equipment
  • Accurately record and manage field measurements for construction and QA purposes
  • Upload, check, and maintain survey data in field instruments and machine control systems
  • Support preparation of digital files and models for site and machine control use
  • Assist with importing survey data into CAD and survey software for as‑built documentation
  • Help maintain survey equipment, including daily care, storage, and basic servicing
  • Interpret plans and specifications with guidance from senior survey staff
  • Communicate set‑out information clearly to site crews
  • Follow safety, quality, and environmental management systems
  • Contribute positively to team culture and ongoing improvement
  • Participate in learning, development, and mentoring where appropriate
  • About You Experience in a survey or civil construction environment
  • Understanding of basic surveying principles and field techniques
  • Experience using survey equipment such as total stations and GNSS receivers
  • Strong attention to detail and accurate numerical skills
  • Ability to follow instructions and work effectively under supervision
  • Exposure to CAD or survey software and data handling processes
  • Confident using Microsoft Office tools
  • Strong communication skills and a practical, problem‑solving mindset
  • Commitment to safety and teamwork
  • Qualifications Certificate III in Surveying, Undergraduate Certificate in Surveying, or equivalent (desirable)
  • White Card
  • Current Driver’s Licence
  • Experience or exposure to 12d or TBC (desirable)
  • UAS/Drone accreditation and First Aid/CPR (desirable)
