He angitūtanga / The opportunity:


We're looking for a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Steward to join our team at one of Auckland Airport's most prestigious lounges . As a key member of the kitchen and service support team, you'll ensure cleanliness, hygiene, and smooth operations across food preparation and dining areas. Your contribution will help deliver a premium experience to our guests. This is a Casual position where hours of work are "as and when" required basis upon business needs and rostered across 7 days of the week. Therefore, the successful candidate MUST be available to work during weekends!


Ko o kawenga / Your responsibilities:


  • Maintain clean and tidy dining and kitchen areas, including sweeping, mopping, and waste handling.
  • Assist with food preparation, portioning, and plating, following food safety protocols.
  • Wash dishes, kitchen equipment, and ensure proper sanitisation and storage.
  • Replenish supplies and rotate stock in dining and kitchen areas.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and respond to customer requests professionally.

  • Experience in a similar role, ideally in a kitchen or hospitality environment.
  • Physically fit, reliable, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Flexible with shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
  • Good communication skills and a positive, can-do attitude.
  • Familiarity with kitchen cleaning equipment and food safety standards (NZQA Food Handling Certificate preferred).
