Battery Masta is looking for a friendly, confident and reliable person to join our Christchurch team in a front-of-house sales role.


After 10 years with us, one of our long-standing team members is moving on, creating an opportunity for someone new to become an important part of our close-knit team.


This is a great role for someone who enjoys talking to people, solving problems and providing genuinely good service. You don't need to be a battery expert - we'll teach you the products. What matters most is your attitude, your ability to connect with customers and your willingness to learn.


About the role


You'll be the friendly face and voice of Battery Masta, dealing with a mix of trade and retail customers both in person and over the phone.


Your day will include:


  • Welcoming and serving walk-in trade and retail customers
  • Handling customer enquiries and sales over the phone
  • Understanding what customers need and recommending the right product
  • Building strong relationships with regular trade customers
  • Processing sales and payments
  • Providing product information and answering customer questions
  • Following up enquiries and helping customers find solutions
  • Completing general front-of-house and administrative duties
  • Working closely with the wider team to keep the business running smoothly


About you


We're looking for someone who is naturally friendly, approachable and good with people.


You'll be someone who:


  • Enjoys talking to customers and building relationships
  • Is confident dealing with people from all walks of life
  • Has a genuine customer-service mindset
  • Is comfortable having sales conversations
  • Is honest, reliable and trustworthy
  • Has a positive attitude and isn't afraid to get stuck in
  • Can stay organised and calm when things get busy
  • Is comfortable using computers and learning new systems
  • Works well as part of a team
  • Has a good sense of humour and doesn't take themselves too seriously


Previous sales or customer service experience would be an advantage. Experience or knowledge in automotive, batteries, electrical or mechanical products would also be beneficial, but isn't essential.


We can teach you the products and systems - we're looking for the right person and the right attitude.


You'll join a workplace where you'll get to know regular customers, build your product knowledge and become an important part of the team.
