AFFCO is seeking a proactive and highly organised Livestock Logistics Planner to join our Livestock Team based at our Head Office in Horotiu. For candidates with suitable industry experience, there may be flexibility to be based at one of our processing sites in the lower North Island.


This is a key operational role that helps ensure livestock is efficiently allocated across our processing network to support production requirements, maximise plant utilisation and deliver the best outcomes for the business and our suppliers.


Working closely with Livestock Buyers, Regional Livestock Managers, Plant Managers, Production Managers and transport providers, you'll play an important role in coordinating livestock movements, maintaining processing plans and supporting the day-to-day success of AFFCO's livestock operations.


What you'll be doing


  • Coordinating livestock allocations and ensuring plant requirements are met
  • Working closely with buyers and regional livestock teams to manage daily livestock supply
  • Liaising with plant leadership teams regarding stock requirements and production needs
  • Planning and coordinating livestock transport and delivery schedules
  • Monitoring livestock forecasts and identifying potential shortfalls or surpluses
  • Preparing and distributing weekly processing plans
  • Building strong working relationships with internal stakeholders, suppliers and transport providers
  • Assisting with continuous improvement across livestock planning and coordination activities

  • Experience in livestock, logistics, transport, production planning or a related industry would be advantageous but is not essential.


Additional Information


Due to the seasonal nature of the livestock industry, work patterns can vary throughout the year. The role is generally based on normal office hours, with evening and weekend work from home as required.
