We are currently looking for an experienced Management Accountant to join our Christchurch team.


Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will provide accurate and timely financial information to support business performance and strategic decision-making. You will also play an important role in maintaining finance policies, controls and processes across the business.


Your key responsibilities will include:


  • Overseeing day-to-day finance functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, reconciliations, cash flow and credit control.
  • Leading month-end processes, financial reporting and reconciliations, ensuring accurate and timely records and compliance with IRD requirements.
  • Providing financial analysis, modelling, budgeting and forecasting to identify trends, risks and opportunities and support commercial decision-making.
  • Developing dashboards and reporting to monitor pricing, margins, customer profitability and business performance.
  • Developing and monitoring financial policies, controls and processes, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Developing pricing strategies and models, analysing margins and customer profitability, and reviewing pricing overrides and market trends.
  • Providing constructive financial and commercial challenge to management to drive improved business performance.
  • Supporting business initiatives, transformation projects and finance/data improvement initiatives, including the appropriate use of AI tools.


To be successful in this role you will have the following skills and attributes:


  • Proven experience in a management accounting or commercial finance role.
  • Strong financial analysis, modelling and reporting skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial controls and reporting requirements.
  • Commercially minded with the confidence to challenge and influence management.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • A proactive approach to process improvement and problem solving.
  • Strong computer and systems skills.
