Job Description

An exciting opportunity has become available for an aspiring Finance Analyst to join a successful food manufacturing business based in Hastings. This role offers exposure to financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, GST compliance, and transactional finance, providing an excellent platform for career development. Working closely with the Accountant, you'll gain hands-on experience across a broad range of finance functions while contributing to the delivery of accurate and timely financial information.


What You'll Be Doing


  • Preparing and delivering financial reports
  • Assisting with monthly management accounts, variance analysis and commentary
  • Supporting budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Developing and improving reporting templates and schedules
  • Assisting with GST preparation and tax compliance requirements
  • Providing support across accounts payable and receivable functions
  • Processing supplier invoices, payment runs and customer receipts
  • Assisting with debtor management and supplier queries
  • Supporting month-end close and reconciliations


What We're Looking For


  • Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related field
  • 1-3 years' experience in an accounting or finance support role
  • Experience with GST and basic tax compliance
  • Exposure to Accounts Payable and/or Accounts Receivable processes
  • Understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Proactive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a hands-on team environment
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Experience with ERP or accounting systems
  • Experience with MYOB ExoNet advantageous
  • Exposure to Power BI or similar reporting tools beneficial
