Are you a passionate, experienced ECE Teacher looking for a centre where relationships, adventure, community, and learning are at the heart of everything we do?

At BestStart Mangorei Road, our tamariki love exploring our local community, from visiting the library and Welbourn School to discovering the Mangorei walkway and nearby pā site. Back at the centre, we encourage curiosity through hands-on experiences, including art, sewing, and special small-group projects.


About the Role


We’re looking for an experienced, enthusiastic Teacher to join our supportive and passionate team. This is a permanent position, 35–40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.


We’re looking for someone who:


  • Holds a BEd/Dip Teaching Level 7 (ECE) and current Teacher Certification
  • Has experience in planning, assessment, and internal evaluation
  • Has knowledge of Te Whāriki and current ECE regulations
  • Is confident in Te Reo Māori and cultural practice
  • Builds strong relationships with tamariki and whānau
  • Is a great communicator and collaborative team member
  • Is passionate about child-led learning and children’s development
  • Is keen to grow their skills and take on new opportunities
