We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced facilitator to run the Parenting Through Separation Programme and the Incredible Years Programme, ensuring that the programme guidelines are adhered to at all times.


This role involves working closely with whanau to provide practical help and support tamariki’s needs during and after separation and to grow positive parenting skills.


'Parenting Through Separation' is a free informative programme to help parents focus on their children when separating and encourage them to make good parenting decisions where the children’s needs are paramount.


‘Incredible Years’ is a free programme for parents and caregivers of children aged 3-8 designed to develop positive family relationships and empower parents and caregivers to make changes and to manage difficult behaviour.


This is a fixed-term (12 months), part-time (28 hours per fortnight) opportunity, covering both South and Central Auckland, so a full NZ drivers' licence is essential.


Facilitation of evening classes may be required occasionally.


You will be able to demonstrate:


  • Knowledge, understanding and experience of supporting adult learning and child development.
  • Excellent relationship building and communication skills and a demonstrated ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds and ages.
  • Knowledge and understanding of trauma informed practices
  • An understanding of the process of separation and the effects on families
  • Previous experience and understanding of a wide range of societal and familial structures (e.g. whānau, hapu, iwi, Pasifika).


To join our team, you will have:


  • Experience in planning and facilitating similar programmes of work (essential).
  • Experience managing difficult situations with insight, maturity and calmness
  • Knowledge of the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and Tikanga Māori.
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills
  • Value diversity and equity and be open to sharing and growing your knowledge of the bi-cultural heritage of Aotearoa/New Zealand.
  • Understanding and empathy for the needs of children, young people and families
  • Clean, full NZ drivers' licence (essential)
