Job Description

**Wellington | Opportunity to shape projects, clients and future growth**

An opportunity for an experienced architectural professional who enjoys more than just the design and delivery of projects. This role will suit someone confident building client relationships, identifying new opportunities and helping bring work into the business.

Working across a varied portfolio you’ll have the opportunity to contribute to project delivery while playing an active role in developing new client relationships and growing the practice’s presence.

Whether your background is in a larger architectural practice or a smaller, design-led studio, you’ll bring the experience, initiative and commercial awareness to make an impact.

**The Role**

You’ll combine architectural project leadership with client engagement and business development. This includes:

  • Leading projects from design development through to documentation and delivery.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants and industry contacts.
  • Being confident in front of clients, presenting ideas, understanding project needs and identifying opportunities for future work.
  • Contributing to proposals, tenders and new business opportunities.
  • Producing and overseeing high-quality design and technical documentation.
  • Coordinating consultants and working through construction, contract administration and site matters.
  • Helping shape the future direction and growth of the Wellington team, with scope to take on greater leadership responsibility over time.

**About You**

You’ll be an experienced Architectural Designer or Architect with a sound understanding of the New Zealand construction industry and the confidence to represent a practice professionally.

You’ll ideally bring:

  • A relevant architectural qualification, such as a BArch, MArch or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge of the NZ Building Code, construction methods and industry regulations.
  • Solid design, technical documentation and project coordination skills.
  • Confidence using Revit and other relevant design software.
  • Experience managing projects, consultants and client relationships.
  • A proactive approach to business development, with the confidence to network, develop new relationships and help secure work.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build trust with clients and colleagues.

Registration is welcome but not essential. You may already be registered, be working towards registration, or be an experienced architectural professional.

**What’s on Offer?**

This is an opportunity to take on a broader role, combining your architectural experience with client engagement and business growth. You’ll have the scope to influence the projects you work on, strengthen industry relationships and contribute to the future direction of the Wellington practice.

For someone who enjoys taking ownership, building relationships and being involved in a diverse range of projects, this could be a rewarding next move.
