Active Safety is a 100% Kiwi-owned and operated business supplying safety gear, workwear and uniforms to customers throughout New Zealand. We're well established, growing, and focused on providing practical solutions with genuine care, accuracy and speed.


We're looking for a friendly, organised and hands-on Trade Sales & Storeperson to join our Sydenham team in Christchurch.


This is a varied role combining customer service, trade sales, order processing and warehouse duties. Working in a small team of four, you'll need to be someone who takes initiative, enjoys being busy and is always willing to pitch in wherever needed.


About the role


You'll be responsible for:


  • Providing friendly, knowledgeable service to customers in-store, by phone and email
  • Assisting with product enquiries, quotations, pricing and sales
  • Processing customer orders accurately and following them through to completion
  • Maintaining customer and order information using NetSuite
  • Coordinating orders, including printing and embroidery requirements
  • Receiving stock, picking, packing and dispatching customer orders
  • Assisting with stock control and keeping the store and warehouse organised
  • Supporting your teammates and helping ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the branch


About you


We're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys helping customers, takes pride in their work and understands the importance of getting the details right.


You'll ideally bring:


  • Previous retail, trade sales or customer service experience
  • Strong administration and computer skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy, particularly with orders and customer information
  • Good communication and organisational skills
  • The ability to multitask, prioritise and think on your feet
  • A conscientious, reliable attitude and strong work ethic
  • Initiative and a willingness to get stuck in and help wherever needed
  • Experience with order processing, stock control or CRM systems would be an advantage
  • Experience with NetSuite would be a bonus, but isn't essential. We're more interested in finding someone with the right attitude, a willingness to learn and a genuine commitment to doing a great job.
