About the Role

Unite Recruit is looking for experienced Civil Class 2 Labourers with WTR endorsements to join civil construction crews across Christchurch and Ashburton.


This is a hands-on role suited to someone with proven civil construction experience who is confident operating within their endorsements but is equally happy getting stuck into general labouring duties. You’ll work alongside an experienced team supporting day-to-day civil construction and infrastructure projects throughout the Canterbury region.


This is a temporary/contract opportunity that could lead to a permanent position with our client for the right person.


  • What You’ll Be Doing Carrying out general civil labouring duties, including site preparation, clean-up and manual handling.
  • Using WTR endorsements where required and operating machinery within your competency.
  • Supporting operators and other crew members to keep projects running safely and efficiently.
  • Following site safety procedures and maintaining a clean, organised worksite.
  • What We’re Looking For Proven civil construction experience is essential.
  • Current Class 2 licence with WTR endorsements is essential.
  • Not afraid to roll up your sleeves and carry out physical labouring duties.
  • Reliable, punctual and able to work well as part of a team.
  • Strong commitment to health and safety on site.
  • Able to follow instructions and work in a fast-paced civil construction environment.
  • What’s On Offer? $28–$34 per hour, depending on experience.
