He angitūtanga / The opportunity:

We are looking for an enthusiastic Catering Assistant to join our team at CHT St Margarets in Te Atatū Peninsula, Auckland. This is a permanent part-time position offering 22 guaranteed hours per week .

Rostered shifts are:

  • Monday: 2:00pm - 7:00pm
  • Tuesday: 2:00pm - 7:00pm
  • Saturday: 8:00am - 2:00pm (excluding break)
  • Sunday: 8:00am - 2:00pm (excluding break)

You will support the preparation and delivery of quality meals while helping create a warm and positive dining experience for our residents.

Baking experience will be an advantage. There may also be opportunities to pick up additional hours from time to time, subject to business needs and leave cover requirements.

Ko o kawenga / Your responsibilities:

  • Prepare, portion, plate and present food for service
  • Assist with vegetable, salad and baking preparation
  • Provide warm, friendly and respectful service to residents
  • Follow dietary requirements, modified diets and food safety procedures
  • Keep kitchen and dining areas clean, hygienic and organised
  • Wash dishes, clean equipment and assist with stock rotation

He kōrero mōu / About you:

  • Previous experience in a similar catering or food service role
  • Essential baking skills and confidence preparing baked goods
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • A flexible, hardworking and team-focused approach
  • Physically fit, reliable and able to work independently when required
  • An NZQA Food Handling Certificate, Units 167 and 168, is desirable
