He angitūtanga / The opportunity:


We are looking for an experienced Chef to join our aged-care team in Botany Downs, Auckland , on a casual basis. You will prepare, cook and serve high-quality meals that meet residents’ dietary, cultural and nutritional requirements. As this is a casual position , shifts will be offered as required and there are no guaranteed weekly hours. opportunity to become permenant in future depending on business need.


Ko o kawenga / Your responsibilities:


  • Prepare, cook, portion and present nutritious, high-quality meals
  • Adapt meals and menus to meet residents’ dietary and cultural requirements
  • Maintain food safety, hygiene, infection control and quality standards
  • Assist with ordering, receiving supplies, stock rotation and waste reduction
  • Keep the kitchen, equipment and food preparation areas clean and organised
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to provide a positive dining experience for residents


He kōrero mōu / About you:


  • NZQA Level 4 Certificate in Cookery or an equivalent qualification
  • NZQA Food Handling Certificate, including Units 167 and 168
  • Previous cooking experience in an aged-care, healthcare or similar environment
  • Strong communication skills and a caring, resident-focused approach
  • Reliable, flexible and able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Physically fit and able to work under pressure while maintaining high standards
