He angitūtanga | The opportunity

As a Barista in the Air New Zealand Lounge , you will take ownership of the coffee bar operations and deliver outstanding service to guests. You’ll play a key role in creating a premium lounge experience through exceptional coffee craftsmanship, warm hospitality, and consistent service standards that reflect the Air New Zealand brand. This is a Permanent position with 17 guaranteed hours during the weekend!


Ko o kawenga | Your responsibilities


  • Prepare and serve high‑quality espresso coffee, including grinding, extraction, milk texturing, and presentation.
  • Manage daily coffee bar operations including setup, service, stock control, and closing procedures.
  • Deliver exceptional, personalised customer service and create memorable guest experiences.
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene across the coffee bar and surrounding areas in line with food safety standards.
  • Work collaboratively with the lounge team to uphold service standards and support overall lounge operations.


He kōrero mōu | About you


  • Experience as a barista or in a similar hospitality role, with strong coffee‑making skills.
  • A friendly, confident communicator who enjoys engaging with customers.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining quality and attention to detail.
  • A reliable team player with a flexible and proactive attitude.
  • Committed to high presentation standards, safety, and delivering premium service experiences.
