  • Qualified Electrician | Renewable Energy & Electrical
  • Tight-knit team with great culture and regular social events
  • New Plymouth based | Projects across Taranaki & NZ

ElectriTech is a New Plymouth-based, family-owned electrical business specialising in renewable energy, electrical power systems and general electrical work. We're growing our team and looking for a qualified and registered Electrician who is reliable, honest, easy to get along with and takes genuine pride in their workmanship.

This is a great opportunity to join a tight-knit team where you'll work across a broad range of electrical projects while developing specialist skills in some of the most exciting areas of the industry - including solar, battery storage, off-grid and standalone power systems.

Solar experience is advantageous, but not essential. If you're a technically capable electrician with the right attitude and an interest in renewable energy, we'll provide training to help you develop these skills.

About the Role

You'll be involved in a varied mix of general electrical and renewable energy work, including:

  • Installation, testing and commissioning of solar PV systems
  • Battery energy storage system installation and commissioning
  • Stand-Alone Power Systems (SAPS), off-grid and hybrid systems
  • Installation and integration of inverters, batteries and generators
  • Solar and battery fault finding, servicing and maintenance
  • Residential, commercial and industrial electrical work
  • Switchboard installations, upgrades and alterations
  • Electrical testing, fault finding and commissioning
  • General electrical installation and maintenance
  • Completing electrical certification and job documentation
  • Working on projects throughout Taranaki and, where required, elsewhere in NZ

The role offers a genuine mix of general electrical work and technically interesting renewable energy projects, so you'll have plenty of variety and opportunities to expand your skill set.

Some travel is required for projects outside Taranaki, generally limited to 1-2 weeks away at a time, with arrangements made to maintain a good work-life balance.

About You

You'll be a New Zealand qualified and registered electrician with a current EWRB practising licence.

Ideally, you'll also have:

  • Strong electrical fault-finding and problem-solving skills
  • A high standard of workmanship and attention to detail
  • Confidence working independently and as part of a small team
  • Good understanding of electrical testing and certification
  • Excellent communication and customer-facing skills
  • A professional, reliable and honest approach
  • A current full NZ Driver Licence
  • An interest in solar, battery storage and emerging energy technologies
  • A willingness to learn and undertake further training

Experience with solar PV, inverters, battery storage, renewable energy or commissioning would be advantageous. Mains-Parallel Generation endorsement is preferred but not essential for the right candidate.

If you're an experienced electrician without renewable energy experience but have strong technical ability and are keen to learn, we'd still like to hear from you.

What ElectriTech Offers:

  • Full-time, permanent position working Monday- Friday, 7:30am-4:00pm
  • Immediate start available, with flexibility for the right person
  • 5% employer KiwiSaver contribution
  • Overtime paid at 1.5x your standard rate after 40 hours
  • Tool allowance
  • Company phone
  • Modern company ute
  • Training and professional development
  • Professional development allowance
  • Genuine career progression as the team continues to grow
  • Regular team social events including annual car racing event for team bonding
  • Work with a friendly, tight-knit team

We're looking for someone who wants to become a valued part of the team - someone reliable, honest, good with customers and proud of the work they put their name to.

If you're a qualified Electrician looking for variety, development and the opportunity to grow with a family-owned business, we'd love to hear from you.
