Job Description

Our Masterton Panelshop is seeking an experienced foreman who knows the panel and paint trade, takes pride in quality work and enjoys getting the best out of a team.

This isn't a sit-behind-a-desk role. You'll be on the workshop floor, leading from the front, coordinating workloads to keep jobs moving, and staying on top of workshop administration and reporting. When needed, you'll jump in and use your technical expertise to support the team, ensuring our diverse fleet is repaired and returned to service safely and efficiently.

We are looking for:

  • Strong Panel Beating or Coachbuilding experience.
  • Relevant industry experience in a workshop supervision or leadership role - we're interested in practical leadership to keep our wheels turning.
  • Great communication skills with the ability to lead a team, whilst not being afraid to get on the tools.
  • A great eye for detail and pride in quality workmanship.
  • Strong organisational and planning skills to meet deadlines, with flexibility to work additional hours to ensure jobs get completed.
  • A willingness to share skills and experience on to our apprentices.
  • A quality-focused and continuous improvement mindset.
  • A Class 2 Heavy Vehicle Drivers Licence or a willingness to obtain.

Why join our team?

  • The opportunity to be involved in a number of exciting projects that are more than just the day to day operations in a workshop built on 100 years of industry expertise.
  • Competitive remuneration package and tool allowance.
  • Full time role (minimum 45 hours per week).
  • Work perks, include discounts with our Tranzit Group of companies & industry partners.
  • Be part of a supportive, experienced team within a nationwide workshop network that genuinely invests in its people. Our commitment to training and development was recently recognised when we won the inaugural MITO Summit Training Business of the Year Award!

You might already be a Foreman, Senior or Leading Hand, or you could simply be the experienced tradesperson everyone turns to when a difficult job needs sorting. If you're ready to lead a team, share what you know and make your mark on a busy Panel Shop, we'd like to hear from you.

We will be reviewing applicants as they apply . Applications close on 23 October 2026 .

We do require a pre-employment drug and alcohol test as part of our recruitment process. All applicants must also have the legal entitlement to work in NZ.
