About the role


Our dedicated Kitchen team at Whangarei Park Village based in Whangarei, Northland are looking for a talented and reliable Cook to deliver excellent service to our residents.


Shifts available are 8:45am to 4:45pm from Saturday to Tuesday - 30 hours a week over 4 days


Key responsibilities will include:


  • Ensures meals are prepared to a high quality, in a timely manner, and are presented attractively, in line with the agreed menus.
  • Undertakes food production under the direction of the Chef
  • Ensures food preparation is compliant with food safety standards
  • Nutritional standards or dietary requirements are always actively addressed.


About you


You will appreciate how important this position is in delivering an outstanding service to our residents, so you will have empathy for the older person; excellent written and spoken English with the ability to communicate in a clear, considerate fashion.


Other things that will support your application include:


  • Commercial kitchen experience
  • Food industry qualification preferable
  • Excellent food hygiene practices and personal presentation
