Leading commercial main contractor seeks an experienced H&S Advisor to drive safety strategy across Auckland & Waikato projects.

Our client is a leading commercial main contractor, looking to expand their health and safety capability across Auckland and the Waikato.


They are seeking an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to join their team on a permanent basis. This is an opportunity to take on a strategic advisory role, supporting the business in managing health and safety across high-risk operations.

  • Lead health and safety strategy and compliance across commercial construction projects across Auckland and Waikato.
  • Permanent role with scope to progress into a senior advisory position for the right candidate.

Preferred Requirements

  • 5 to 7 years' experience as a Health & Safety professional, with a clear progression through roles (H&S Administrator, Coordinator, and Advisor)
  • Demonstrated site leadership and commercial construction experience, or equivalent high-risk sector exposure (logistics, transport, manufacturing)
  • Strong advisory experience with the ability to influence and guide operational teams on health and safety matters
  • Background in a larger organisation (200+ employees) where you have managed health and safety at scale
  • Proven ability to translate compliance requirements into practical, workable solutions

Preferred Qualifications

  • NZQA Level 6 qualification in Health and Safety or equivalent
  • ICAM (Institute of Certified Auditing Managers) certification or similar professional accreditation
  • Current New Zealand health and safety qualifications and registration
