Stellar Recruitment is partnering with a respected mechanical services contractor who is seeking a Mechanical Estimator to join their Christchurch-based team. This is a great opportunity for someone with strong commercial estimating experience who is looking to take the next step in their career and work across a diverse range of commercial mechanical projects.

The Role

Reporting to the leadership team, this role will see you take ownership of preparing accurate and competitive estimates for commercial mechanical services projects.

Working closely with project managers, suppliers, subcontractors, and clients, you will be responsible for producing detailed tenders and pricing submissions, ensuring projects are accurately scoped and commercially viable from the outset.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Estimator, HVAC Estimator, or Quantity Surveyor who enjoys building strong industry relationships and wants to be part of a business that values collaboration, autonomy, and professional growth.

The Skills Required

  • Previous experience in Mechanical Estimating, HVAC Estimating, Quantity Surveying, or Mechanical Project Delivery
  • Commercial construction experience is essential
  • Strong understanding of HVAC and mechanical services systems
  • Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and tender documentation
  • Experience preparing take-offs, cost plans, and tender submissions
  • Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
  • A proactive approach and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
