Tradestaff is looking for motivated school leavers who are ready to get out into the workforce and give something new a go!

Whether you're looking for summer work, wanting to explore different career options or keen to build a future in the trades, we'd love to hear from you.


No experience? No problem! Everyone has to start somewhere, and we're more interested in your attitude, reliability and willingness to learn.


What kind of work could you get into? We work with a huge range of businesses across Queenstown, Wānaka and Cromwell, with potential opportunities in:

  • Construction & Building – Get hands-on experience working alongside builders and tradespeople
  • Civil Construction – Learn about roading, infrastructure and working around machinery
  • Landscaping – Work outdoors creating and maintaining gardens and outdoor spaces
  • Painting & Decorating – Learn the basics of surface preparation, painting and finishing
  • General Labouring – Get stuck into a variety of practical, hands-on jobs
  • Trades & Apprenticeship Pathways – Explore industries that could lead to a long-term career

  • Ability to follow instructions and work safely
  • A reasonable level of physical fitness for labouring roles
  • Reliable transport is an advantage
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test
