Job Description

An opportunity exists for an experienced Project Manager to join a major infrastructure project within the Wellington region.


We are seeking a proven civil infrastructure professional with strong New Zealand project delivery experience and specialist expertise in granular pavements, asphalt surfacing and asphalt concrete construction. This role will suit a commercially astute leader who thrives in complex project environments and enjoys managing multiple stakeholders while driving successful project outcomes.


About the Role


You will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of major civil infrastructure works, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on programme and within budget.


Key responsibilities include:


  • Leading projects from tender stage through to completion
  • Supporting pricing and tender submissions
  • Managing project financial performance, forecasting and reporting
  • Coordinating site teams, subcontractors, suppliers and plant resources
  • Building and maintaining strong client and stakeholder relationships
  • Managing contract administration, variations, RFIs and invoicing
  • Driving safety, quality and environmental performance across all project activities
  • Identifying, managing and mitigating project risks
  • Planning workforce and resource requirements
  • Improving project delivery methodologies and productivity outcomes


About You:


To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Engineering Degree or Diploma qualification
  • Extensive experience delivering civil infrastructure projects
  • Strong technical expertise in granular pavements, pavement construction and asphalt concrete works
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex transport, roading or infrastructure projects
  • Excellent working knowledge of NZS3910 and the Construction Contracts Act
  • Strong commercial and financial management capability
  • Proven leadership experience developing and motivating project teams
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Current New Zealand working rights
