BestStart West Village is seeking a passionate and dedicated Teacher in Training to join our energetic and supportive team. Our focus is on providing high-quality education and care that nurtures every child's learning journey.

Located on the outskirts of Rolleston, BestStart West Village is a modern, purpose-built centre featuring four beautiful classrooms and thoughtfully designed learning environments for every age group, complemented by spacious outdoor playgrounds that inspire curiosity, creativity, exploration, confidence, independence, and a love of active learning.


About the Role


We are looking for an enthusiastic Teacher in Training who is currently enrolled in a Level 7 ECE qualification (Bachelor of Teaching ECE or Graduate Diploma in ECE) and has a genuine passion for supporting young learners.


This is a permanent, full-time position working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, across rostered shifts between 7:00am and 6:00pm.


You will be joining our preschool team , working alongside tamariki aged over three years. Our preschool programme is designed to extend children's thinking, creativity, social competence, and confidence through rich, play-based learning experiences. With two dedicated over-three classrooms, children benefit from smaller group sizes and meaningful learning opportunities that support their individual interests and development.

You will have:


  • Current enrolment in a Level 7 ECE Bachelor or Graduate Diploma programme
  • An understanding of child-led curriculum and the ability to support and extend children's learning
  • Knowledge of Te Whāriki, current ECE regulations, and a strong commitment to compliance
  • A genuine commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and culturally responsive teaching practices
  • Passion, enthusiasm, and a commitment to delivering high-quality education and care
