Project Analyst | Contract | AKL or Waikato (Hybrid)


We're on the hunt for an experienced Project Analyst to join an Infrastructure Delivery team for an initial three-month contract.

Working across a large and complex programme, you’ll support project delivery teams, PMO stakeholders and senior leaders to improve the quality and reliability of portfolio reporting, forecasting and project controls.


About the role

This is a hands-on role covering monthly reporting cycles, data quality, financial and forecast analysis, schedule management and portfolio insights. You’ll also work closely with Project Managers to strengthen reporting disciplines and support the continued maturity and adoption of Planview. Your responsibilities include:

  • Supporting monthly project status and portfolio reporting and completing monthly labour costing and reconciliations
  • Reviewing and improving project, financial, forecast and schedule data
  • Monitoring reporting compliance, forecast accuracy and project variances
  • Developing reporting metrics, dashboards and portfolio insights. Identifying opportunities to standardise, automate and improve reporting processes
  • Supporting Planview adoption and reporting maturity

About you

You’re an seasoned Project Analyst, PMO Analyst, Project Controls Analyst, Portfolio Analyst or similar. You've experience supporting sizeable and complex portfolios. You’ll bring:

  • Strong analytical, reporting and financial capability
  • Experience working with project and portfolio data
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Experience with Planview, Primavera, Microsoft Project or another PPM/project controls platform
  • Confidence working directly with Project Managers and senior stakeholders
  • Strong attention to detail and an ability to identify and resolve data quality issues
  • Experience within infrastructure, capital works, healthcare, government or construction environments would be advantageous

You’ll be comfortable getting across a complex environment quickly, challenging data where needed and helping teams improve the accuracy and consistency of their reporting.
