Job Description

Class 4 & 5 Civil Driver

Tradestaff is looking for an experienced Class 4 & 5 Civil Driver to work across a range of Christchurch civil projects. We need someone who’s confident behind the wheel but also happy to get out of the truck, get stuck in and support the crew when required.


Location: Various sites, Christchurch

Start date: Immediate

Pay rate: $32–$35 per hour + weekly pay


  • What You’ll Be DoingDrive Class 4 and Class 5 trucks across civil worksites
  • Operate tipper trucks and transport materials between sites
  • Complete loading and unloading duties safely
  • Carry out pre-start checks and look after assigned vehicles
  • Work safely around active civil sites, machinery and crews
  • Get out of the truck and assist with hands-on site tasks when required
  • Follow site procedures and maintain strong health and safety standards
  • What We’re Looking ForCurrent NZ Class 4 and Class 5 Driver Licences
  • Proven experience driving within the civil construction industry
  • Confidence operating heavy vehicles on active worksites
  • Tipper truck and material transport experience
  • Willingness to assist with physical site work when required
  • Reliable transport and a strong work ethic
  • Safety-focused, dependable and comfortable working as part of a civil crew
