Farm Maintenance Worker

Tradestaff is looking for a practical, hands-on Farm Maintenance Worker to join a busy farm operation in Te Awamutu. This role suits someone with strong mechanical aptitude who enjoys solving problems, working with machinery, and tackling a variety of repairs and maintenance tasks.


Location: Te Awamutu

Start date: Immediate start

Pay rate: $30–$34 per hour + weekly pay


  • What You'll Be DoingCarry out ARC welding and general fabrication repairs
  • Maintain and repair farm machinery and equipment
  • Complete basic plumbing repairs and maintenance
  • Diagnose everyday maintenance issues and find practical solutions
  • Use hand and power tools across a range of repair tasks
  • Complete general maintenance on buildings, equipment, and site facilities
  • Help keep machinery and operational areas in good working condition
  • What We're Looking ForPrevious hands-on maintenance, mechanical, or similar practical experience
  • Confident ARC welding and general repair skills
  • Good mechanical aptitude with a practical problem-solving approach
  • Competent using common hand and power tools
  • Valid driver licence and reliable transport
  • Physically fit and comfortable completing manual maintenance work
  • Comfortable working in a farm environment where strong odours may be present
