Marra Marine is busy and growing. We have a significant amount of work coming through and a strong pipeline ahead, so we are expanding our team.


We are looking for an experienced Boat Builder who can take ownership of their work, solve problems and consistently produce a high standard of finish.


This is a senior tradesperson role rather than a management position. You will not be expected to run the team, but your experience, standards and work ethic will naturally set a good example.


About the work


No two projects are quite the same. You will work across custom builds, major refits, restorations, repairs and upgrades in our Tauranga workshop and at the marina.


You will be trusted to get on with the job, contribute your ideas and use the experience you have built over your career.


What we are looking for:


  • Ideally 10 or more years of boatbuilding experience
  • A boatbuilding qualification or strong equivalent industry experience
  • Experience with wooden and composite boatbuilding
  • Strong technical knowledge and attention to detail
  • Confidence working independently and as part of a team
  • Good problem-solving skills and initiative
  • Clear communication and a reliable, professional approach
  • A full, clean and current driver licence


Marine painting experience would be an advantage, but it is not essential.
