Job Description

The Opportunity

We are partnering with Mondiale VGL, a leading global logistics business backed by Direct Capital, to appoint a Corporate Finance Manager.


This is a high-impact role sitting at the centre of the Group's corporate finance, strategic planning and investment activity. Reporting to the Group CFO and working closely with the CEO, Chief Strategy Officer and wider senior leadership team, you'll provide the analysis and commercial insight underpinning major investment, growth and capital allocation decisions.


With operations across New Zealand, Australia, Asia and Europe, Mondiale VGL offers the opportunity to work within a complex international business with an ambitious growth strategy and sophisticated shareholder environment.


You'll take ownership of a broad corporate finance remit, including:

  • Developing and maintaining the Group's five-year integrated financial model.
  • Providing financial analysis and commercial insight to support strategic decision-making and long-term value creation.
  • Conducting variance analysis and assessing business performance, key value drivers, trends and opportunities.
  • Evaluating capital allocation across fleet, property, technology and other major investments.
  • Developing detailed financial models and business cases to support strategic and commercial initiatives.
  • Conducting strategic reviews across key business segments and identifying opportunities to improve performance.
  • Supporting the Group's planning and execution of strategic and growth initiatives.
  • Preparing high-quality Board and executive-level analysis, reporting and presentations.
  • Supporting capital structure optimisation, debt financing and refinancing activities.
  • Managing relationships with banks, lenders and other financial institutions as required.
  • Providing analysis and recommendations relating to financial risk management and shareholder distributions.
  • Supporting the assessment of existing and new leases from a commercial and financial perspective.
  • Supporting the identification, evaluation and execution of M&A opportunities, including financial modelling, valuation and due diligence.


About You

We are looking for a commercially minded corporate finance professional with strong technical foundations and the ability to operate confidently with senior stakeholders.


You'll ideally bring:

  • 3–9+ years' experience in investment banking, private equity, corporate finance, corporate development/in-house M&A or a comparable environment.
  • Strong financial modelling capability, including integrated P&L, balance sheet and cash flow modelling.
  • Experience across financial analysis, investment analysis and business valuation.
  • Strong commercial judgement and an understanding of the key drivers of business performance.
  • Excellent analytical, communication and presentation skills.
  • The confidence to challenge assumptions, form a view and translate complex analysis into clear recommendations.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to work effectively with senior executives and external advisers.
  • Experience across M&A, transaction analysis or financial due diligence.
