We are Copthorne Hotel, Greymouth. We are part of one of New Zealand's largest hotel operators and part of an expanding international network of hotels.  We are known for our outstanding service experiences and a fantastic team.


We are looking for a dedicated and passionate Breakfast Duty Chef to assist in the preparation of our breakfast buffet. The successful candidate will have a strong attention to detail, a love for cooking, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. While formal culinary qualifications are not required, previous experience in a similar role is preferred.


About the role:


  • Prepare and cook breakfast items for the buffet, ensuring quality and presentation standards are met
  • Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth operations during breakfast service
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, following food safety and hygiene standards
  • Adhere to portion control guidelines and minimize food waste
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate any supply needs to the kitchen manager
  • Assist in other kitchen duties as assigned

Requirements:


  • Previous experience in a breakfast cook or similar role is preferred
  • Passion for food and a strong desire to provide excellent culinary experiences
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Knowledge of basic food safety and hygiene practices
  • Flexibility to work early morning shifts, including weekends and public holidays


This role offers a guaranteed 30 hours per week . We will look after you with regular shifts, a friendly team and the prestige of being part of one of NZ's leading hotel brands. $26.91 -$28.71 depending on your experience.
