Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Head Housekeeper to lead and coordinate housekeeping operations at our establishment. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, presentation, and guest satisfaction while ensuring the efficient day-to-day operation of the housekeeping department.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Supervise, coordinate, and support housekeeping staff in their daily duties.
  • Allocate room cleaning and housekeeping tasks and monitor work quality.
  • Inspect guest rooms, public areas, and other facilities to ensure cleanliness and presentation standards are maintained.
  • Develop and implement housekeeping procedures and schedules.
  • Manage linen, cleaning supplies, equipment, and stock levels.
  • Monitor inventory and arrange replenishment of housekeeping supplies.
  • Train staff in cleaning procedures, workplace safety, hygiene, and service standards.
  • Coordinate with reception, maintenance, and management regarding room readiness, repairs, and guest requirements.
  • Handle housekeeping-related guest concerns and resolve issues professionally.
  • Monitor staff performance, attendance, and productivity.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant health, safety, and workplace policies.


Skills and Experience


The ideal candidate will have:


  • Previous experience in housekeeping, preferably in a supervisory or management position.
  • Strong organisational, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of professional cleaning procedures, hygiene standards, and housekeeping equipment.
  • The ability to manage workloads, prioritise tasks, and maintain attention to detail.
  • The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
