About the role


We are excited to offer a Stylist Part Time position at Max Fashions, located in the heart of Wellington CBD on Lambton Quay. This is a part-time role that offers flexibility whilst allowing you to be at the forefront of fashion retail. As a Stylist, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional customer experiences, styling advice, and helping clients find the perfect pieces that reflect their personal style. This position is vital to our store's success, driving sales and building lasting customer relationships that keep clients returning to Max Fashions.


What you'll be doing


  • Greeting customers warmly and providing personalised styling advice based on individual preferences, body types and lifestyle needs
  • Assisting customers in selecting clothing and accessories, offering fashion-forward recommendations and trend insights
  • Maintaining an in-depth knowledge of current inventory and seasonal collections to effectively match customer needs with available stock
  • Creating appealing visual displays and window presentations that showcase products and inspire customer interest
  • Processing transactions accurately using point-of-sale systems and handling cash and card payments securely
  • Supporting the store team with stock replenishment, organisation and merchandising activities
  • Building and maintaining strong customer relationships, remembering preferences and encouraging repeat visits
  • Staying informed about upcoming promotions, sales events and new product launches to communicate effectively with customers
  • Contributing to a positive, collaborative team environment and supporting colleagues during busy periods


What we're looking for


  • Proven experience working in retail, fashion retail or a customer-facing sales environment
  • Strong styling knowledge with an eye for fashion, trends and colour coordination
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with diverse customers
  • A passion for fashion and genuine enthusiasm for helping customers look and feel their best
  • Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends as required for a part-time role
  • Strong numeracy skills and experience with point-of-sale systems
  • Organisational skills with attention to detail and ability to multitask in a busy retail environment
  • Reliability, professionalism and a positive attitude towards customer service


Preferred: Experience in visual merchandising or previous styling experience
