Job Description

  • The Company Our client is a market-leading business operating across a fast-paced and essential industry. They are embarking on a few exciting projects, as well as bringing the payroll function back in-house, which will mean that this role will grow & evolve with the business. The Role As the sole charge payroll specialist, you will be reporting the head of finance looking after the end-to end payroll for the business processing around 760x staff (Salaries & wages) which are processed on a weekly, fortnightly & monthly basis. They are also in the process of implementing a new system & this person will be an integral part of the process. You will be responsible for the following: Process payroll accurately and in line with scheduled deadlines
  • Manage end-to-end payroll administration and processing activities
  • Maintain employee payroll records and ensure data accuracy
  • Investigate, resolve, and reconcile payroll discrepancies and exceptions
  • Ensure payroll practices comply with relevant legislation, regulations, and company policies
  • Support PAYE submissions, ACC reconciliations, and payroll compliance reporting
  • Provide timely assistance to employees and managers on payroll-related enquiries
  • Prepare and support payroll journals and finance reporting requirements
  • Handle payroll information with the highest level of confidentiality, accuracy, and integrity
  • Skills & Experience 3- 5 years end-to-end payroll experience
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Knowledge of NZ payroll and employment legislation
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
  • Proactive, solutions-focused mindset
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills
