Job Description

This spring, Queen Street will welcome a new 80-seat restaurant, and with it, a touch of glamour.


Lottie's is opening on the first floor of Faradays, the new luxury department store at 131 Queen Street. It's the latest venture from Emett Group, the team behind much-loved Auckland restaurants Onslow and Gilt Brasserie, both located just around the corner.


Inspired by the great London department store dining rooms of the past, Lottie's is a contemporary take on a much-loved tradition. Expect an all day menu of timeless classics, pastries, afternoon tea, alongside classic cocktails and plenty of champagne.

We're looking for front of house stars to join our founding team and help bring this exciting new restaurant to life.

The Details


  • Lottie's will operate seven days a week, including public holidays
  • Shifts will be scheduled to support trading hours of 10.00am to 6.30pm
  • There will be occasional evening trading and extended hours during the busy Christmas period
  • Additional event shifts will provide further opportunities to increase your earnings

Positions


Lottie's Duty Managers (x2)


Responsibilities include


  • Effectively lead a busy Front of House team and supervise during their shift
  • Actively participate in the cycle of service as needed
  • Maintain proper flow of service while upholding service standards, product quality, and cleanliness
  • Oversee breaks, start and finish times
  • Manage and address any questions, issues or complaints the Front of House team have during their shift
  • Respond to customer complaints or inquiries. Solicit customer feedback, input, and information through various communication vehicles
  • Responsible for opening and closing of venue floor and bar
  • Create and run daily briefings before each service


Qualifications


  • A minimum of 3 years experience working in an equivalent venue
  • Knowledge of POS systems
  • Hold LCQ certificate


The Role


  • Permanent
  • Full time (minimum 30 hours per week) or part time (15-20 hours per week)
  • Rostered shifts that can include weekends, some evenings and public holidays

Lottie's Hosts (x2)


Responsibilities include


  • Welcome every guest with warmth, professionalism and confidence
  • Manage reservations using the restaurant booking system and maximise seating efficiency
  • Prepare the venue for service, ensuring every detail is guest ready
  • Support managers with service administration, reporting and assisting on the floor as required
  • Answer phone calls, respond to email enquiries and assist with reservations and guest requests
  • Build rapport with regular guests and recognise VIPs, celebrating special occasions where appropriate
  • Work collaboratively across the restaurant and retail teams to deliver a seamless luxury experience


Qualifications


  • Minimum 2 years experience working in an equivalent venue - on the floor and/or as part of an events team
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Confident and professional presentation
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask
  • Calm under pressure with excellent attention to detail

Lottie's Waitstaff (x4)


Responsibilities include


  • Ensure that guests are well cared for throughout their dining experience and strive to exceed their expectations
  • Follow our detailed sequence of service
  • Present menus, describe specials and limited time offers
  • Assist guests with their food/beverage selections making recommendations based on guest preferences
  • Study the food glossary and stay current with daily menu additions and specials
  • Process food and beverage orders accurately into the point of sale
  • Present orders to the table, answer questions and attend to guests requests


Qualifications


  • Minimum 2 years experience working in an equivalent venue
  • A genuine passion for hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to remain calm, organised, and efficient during busy service periods.
