About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced, hands-on Site Manager to join a busy construction and maintenance operation in Auckland.

This is a varied role suited to someone with a strong construction background who can lead from the front, organise people and resources, coordinate jobs and isn’t afraid to get stuck in on the tools when required.

You’ll be responsible for keeping work moving safely and efficiently, managing crews and coordinating with clients, suppliers and subcontractors across a variety of construction and maintenance projects.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Leading and coordinating site crews and subcontractors.
  • Planning daily workloads and scheduling crews, materials and equipment.
  • Coordinating suppliers, deliveries and subcontractor requirements.
  • Liaising with clients to ensure work is completed to their expectations.
  • Overseeing site safety, workmanship and quality standards.
  • Identifying and resolving issues to keep jobs running smoothly.
  • Working hands-on alongside the team when required.
  • Managing a varied range of construction, repair and maintenance work.

Projects may include:

  • Concrete work, foundations and reinstatement.
  • Asphalt repairs and reinstatement of footpaths, driveways and roads.
  • Service chamber repairs.
  • Brickwork and plastering.
  • Fence and bollard installation.
  • Carpentry and small-scale roofing.
  • Operating a small digger and carrying out associated site works.

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience as a Site Manager, Construction Foreman, Leading Hand or in a similar role.
  • A broad background across construction, civil works, building maintenance or repairs.
  • The ability to lead a team while remaining hands-on when required.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to coordinate crews, suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Confidence communicating with clients and managing competing priorities.
  • A practical, solutions-focused approach to problem-solving.
  • A strong commitment to health and safety and quality workmanship.
  • Reliability, initiative and the ability to take ownership of the work.

What’s on Offer?

  • $40–$45 per hour, depending on experience.
  • A varied, hands-on role with plenty of responsibility.
  • The opportunity to take ownership of site activities and help deliver a wide range of projects.
  • A practical working environment where experience, initiative and getting the job done are valued.
