Roading | Drainage | Earthworks | Council Contracts

Onestaff  Invercargill are partnering with established civil construction contractors delivering work across roading, drainage, earthworks and council infrastructure projects. We're looking for Class 2, 4 and 5 Truck Drivers and machine operators who are just as comfortable on the tools as they are behind the wheel.

This is a hands-on civil role - driving and operating is part of the job, but labouring on site is essential also.


About the Role

You will be involved in a wide range of civil works, including:

  • Operating Class 2, 4 or 5 trucks (tippers, water carts, transporters, etc.)
  • Operating machinery, excavators, dump trucks
  • Carting aggregates, spoil, pipes and materials
  • Assisting with roading works (subgrade, basecourse, chipseal prep)
  • Supporting drainage crews with pipe laying, backfilling and reinstatement
  • General earthworks labouring including trimming, spotting and site clean-up
  • Working on council infrastructure and maintenance contracts
  • Completing daily vehicle checks and site safety requirements


What We're Looking For

  • Full NZ Class 2, 4 or 5 licence
  • WTR endorsements
  • Previous civil construction experience in roading, drainage or earthworks
  • Willingness to jump out of the truck and help the crew
  • Strong health & safety awareness
  • Reliable, punctual and team-focused
  • Able to pass a pre-employment drug & alcohol test
