The Role | Mō tēnei tūranga mahi

This is a permanent, full-time Support Worker position based in Thames, working 40 hours per week from Monday to Friday.

In this role, you will:

  • Support people experiencing mental health and/or addiction challenges in the community, helping them set goals and access culturally safe support
  • Take a whole-person approach, including supporting people to address their physical health needs
  • Accompany tāngata whai ora to appointments and advocate on their behalf
  • Support tāngata whai ora to build meaningful connections within their communities
  • Work collaboratively within the team while effectively managing your own caseload
  • Maintain accurate records and use computer systems confidently

You | Mōu

  • Hold a current, full New Zealand Driver Licence
  • Hold a current first aid certificate, or be willing to obtain one
  • Hold the Level 4 New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (or a recognised equivalent) or be willing to begin working towards this qualification within six months of joining us. The qualification must be completed within two years of commencement, and we provide significant support to help our kaimahi achieve it
  • Show initiative and a willingness to go the extra mile
  • Demonstrate knowledge of, and a clear commitment to, Te Tiriti o Waitangi
