Certifix is a specialist provider of Height Access and Fall Protection systems, helping keep people safe when working at height across commercial and industrial properties throughout New Zealand.


We're part of the wider Hawk Services Group, but Certifix itself is a small, hands-on team. With the business growing rapidly and several exciting new contracts on the horizon, we're looking for our next Height Safety Technician to join the team.

The Role


As a Height Safety Technician, you'll work across a range of projects installing, inspecting and certifying height safety and access systems.


Your work may include:


  • Installing roof anchors and horizontal lifeline systems
  • Installing fixed aluminium caged ladders
  • Installing roof walkways, guardrails and AC platforms
  • Inspecting existing roof anchors and lifeline systems
  • Carrying out testing and certification
  • Reading and interpreting technical drawings and system layouts
  • Working safely and confidently at height and in a range of outdoor environments
  • Liaising professionally with Project Managers, Commercial Property Managers and other stakeholders
  • Maintaining a high standard of Health & Safety and documentation
  • Taking on other varied tasks as the business continues to grow


About You


We're looking for someone who is reliable, practical and takes pride in delivering quality work. You'll ideally have experience in construction, roofing, height safety or a related trade, with experience installing anchors, lifelines or access systems being highly advantageous.


You'll also have:


  • A strong commitment to Health & Safety
  • Confidence working at heights
  • Experience using power tools and producing quality workmanship
  • Good communication skills and a professional approach
  • The ability to work independently while being a strong team player
  • A full NZ clean driver licence (or international equivalent)
  • A drug-free lifestyle
  • Working at Heights and/or EWP qualifications are preferred, but training can be provided for the right person
