About the Role

Join SleepMaker at our new Heathwood manufacturing facility.

We're looking for experienced Tape Edgers, Industrial Sewing Machinists and Machine Operators to join our growing production team.

If you have experience in mattress manufacturing, industrial sewing or tape edging, we'd particularly like to hear from you. We're also interested in candidates with transferable skills from:

  • Upholstery
  • Furniture manufacturing
  • Textiles
  • Automotive trimming
  • Clothing or industrial sewing
  • Other fast-paced manufacturing environments


These are full-time, hands-on manufacturing roles where you'll help produce high-quality SleepMaker mattresses and bedding products.


What You'll Be Doing

Depending on your skills and experience, you may be responsible for:

  • Operating industrial sewing, tape edging and mattress manufacturing equipment
  • Sewing, finishing and assembling mattress components
  • Setting up, adjusting and monitoring production machinery
  • Loading materials and components
  • Performing machine changeovers and basic adjustments
  • Monitoring product quality and completing quality checks
  • Identifying production issues and carrying out basic troubleshooting
  • Following work instructions, production schedules and safety procedures
  • Performing manual handling of materials and finished products
  • Working with your team to safely achieve daily production targets
  • Maintaining a clean, safe and organised work area


What We’re Looking For

We are seeking reliable, safety-focused people who take pride in producing quality work.

Ideally, you'll bring:

  • Previous tape edging, industrial sewing, upholstery, textile or manufacturing experience Experience operating production machinery or industrial sewing equipment Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail A strong commitment to quality and safety The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment A reliable work ethic and positive, team-focused attitude The ability to perform physical and manual handling tasks A willingness to learn different machines and production processes Forklift Licence (LF) desirable but not essential [assuming this is true operationally]
