Job Description

Qualified Electrician

Tradestaff is looking for a Qualified Electrician to join a well-established Christchurch electrical contractor. You’ll work across residential, commercial and industrial projects, with plenty of variety and a strong pipeline of work ahead.


Location: Canterbury

Start date: Immediate start

Pay rate: $38–$45 per hour + weekly pay


  • What You’ll Be DoingComplete electrical installations and fit-outs across varied projects
  • Install, test and commission wiring, lighting, switchboards and electrical systems
  • Carry out fault finding, diagnostics, maintenance and repairs
  • Read and work accurately from electrical plans and specifications
  • Complete testing and inspections to required standards
  • Maintain accurate job and compliance documentation
  • Ensure all work meets current NZ electrical and safety requirements
  • What We’re Looking ForNZ Registered Electrician with a current EWRB Electrical Practising Licence
  • At least 5 years of relevant electrical experience
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
  • Confidence reading electrical plans and technical documentation
  • Own electrical hand tools
  • Full NZ Driver Licence and reliable transport
  • High standard of workmanship with a strong commitment to safety
