General Labourer


Tradestaff Dunedin is on the lookout for reliable, hardworking General Labourers to join our team for a variety of casual assignments across Dunedin.

We're looking for motivated people who are physically fit, ready to roll up their sleeves and have good availability throughout the working week. Opportunities may include construction, civil works, warehousing, landscaping and general labouring as assignments become available.


This is ideal for applicants who can commit to regular work opportunities over at least two months, rather than those looking for the occasional shift. Assignments are offered as work becomes available, and hours are not guaranteed.


Location: Dunedin Central, Dunedin

Start date: Flexible starts as assignments become available

Pay rate: $26–$30 per hour, depending on the role (paid weekly)


  • What You'll Be DoingGeneral construction labouring on building sites, including physically demanding tasks
  • Civil construction, roading and demolition labouring
  • Assisting with scaffolding and site preparation
  • Furniture moving, loading, unloading and general manual handling
  • Warehouse labouring, stock handling and general warehouse duties
  • Car grooming and general cleaning tasks
  • Landscaping, grounds maintenance and general handyman tasks
  • What We're Looking ForA strong work ethic, reliability and a positive, can-do attitude
  • A minimum two-month commitment, with substantial and consistent weekday availability
  • At least a restricted NZ Driver Licence and your own car to travel reliably to different worksites
  • Good physical fitness and the ability to carry out demanding manual labour
  • Willingness to work across different industries, locations and tasks
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • A commitment to following instructions and maintaining safe working practices
