Location: Hastings/Napier, Hawke’s Bay

Pay Rate: $30.00 to $35.00 per hour, depending on experience



Tradestaff Hawke’s Bay is looking for experienced Hammerhands ready to get stuck into residential and commercial projects across the region.

We have a strong pipeline of work available now. If you’re confident on the tools, know your way around a construction site, and can put in a solid day’s work, we want to hear from you.


  • What you’ll be doing:Assisting qualified builders on residential and commercial sites
  • Measuring, cutting, and assembling building materials
  • Supporting framing, formwork, fit-out, and general carpentry work
  • Using hand and power tools safely and confidently
  • Loading, unloading, and moving materials around site
  • Site preparation and clean-up
  • Following site instructions and health & safety requirements
  • What we’re looking for:Previous Hammerhand or solid construction experience
  • Residential and/or commercial building experience
  • Confident using common hand and power tools
  • Own basic hand tools
  • Good understanding of construction site safety
  • Physically fit and comfortable with hands-on work
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work well within a crew
  • A strong work ethic and a get-stuck-in attitude
