About the Role

We're looking for an experienced Cable Jointer to join our team in Christchurch.

You'll work as part of our Field Service Delivery team, carrying out cable jointing work across electrical distribution networks and associated equipment. You'll play an important role in delivering safe, high-quality, and efficient work across scheduled projects and fault response.

You'll be involved in:

  • Undertaking cable jointing work, including live jointing as required
  • Working with 400V to 11kV plastic insulated and lead sheath cables
  • Laying cables and completing cable termination work
  • Reading and interpreting utility plans and network requirements
  • Supporting scheduled and emergency field work
  • Maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and customer service
  • Working collaboratively with the wider Connetics team and network customers

About You

You'll thrive in this role if you have:

  • Electrical registration with a Cable Jointer limitation and a current practising licence
  • A Level 4 New Zealand Certificate in Electricity Supply (Cable Jointer High Voltage) or equivalent
  • Significant experience jointing and terminating 400V to 11kV cables
  • Experience reading and interpreting utility plans
  • Relevant network certifications and knowledge of industry regulations

  • $35.27-$43.50 (T1.5 after 8 hours and weekends, T2 for after-hours fault work, plus 24/7 fault roster opportunities)
  • Standard hours: 7:30am-4:00pm, with most work based across Christchurch and the wider Canterbury region
