The Role Owning and supporting the month-end financial accounting and reporting process
  • Preparing balance sheet reconciliations, journals, accruals and prepayments
  • Managing a large, fixed asset register, including additions, disposals, depreciation and capital expenditure
  • Supporting the annual budgeting process and regular forecasting cycles
  • Working with stakeholders to understand financial drivers and identify areas requiring further investigation
  • Preparing management reporting and financial information for internal stakeholders
  • Supporting year-end accounts, audit requirements and statutory reporting
  • Ensuring financial processes and controls remain accurate and effective
  • Identifying opportunities to improve systems, processes and reporting
  • Providing ad-hoc financial analysis and support across the wider business as required
  • This is a broad role that will suit someone who enjoys combining strong technical accounting with exposure to the wider commercial side of the business. Your Profile We are looking for a commercially minded accounting professional who enjoys taking ownership, understanding the wider business and adding value beyond the numbers. This role could suit someone currently working in Audit or Business Advisory who is looking to make their move into a commercial environment, as well as someone with existing Financial or Management Accounting experience. You will ideally have: A background in Audit, Business Advisory, Financial Accounting or Management Accounting
  • A commercially minded approach with a genuine interest in understanding business performance
  • Strong fixed assets experience would be highly advantageous
  • Exposure to budgeting and forecasting processes would be beneficial
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to investigate and explain variances
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong Excel and systems capability
  • The ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively with stakeholders
  • A proactive approach and willingness to identify and improve processes
  • A relevant accounting qualification would be advantageous, although strong practical experience will also be considered.
