Pushbikes has been sharing the stoke of cycling for over 25 years. We're looking for a strong salesperson to become a key part of our St Martins in-store team.


This is a customer-facing, sales-focused role for someone who takes ownership on the shop floor, builds real relationships with customers, and can be trusted to run the store solo when required.


You'll work alongside the team on general sales and service, with some bike assembly on the side, and on certain rostered days the ability to open or close the store and run it sole charge for a period, typically an hour or two at the start or end of the day rather than full days alone.


Hours


This role is 25 to 30 hours a week, made up of a flexible combination of days to suit both you and the store. St Martins isn't open Sundays, so the roster will include the Saturday and, ideally, a Monday shift, with the remaining days worked out around what fits. We're open to discussing more hours for the right person.


What the role involves:


  • Selling bikes, parts, accessories and services on the retail floor
  • Delivering high-quality customer service, in-store and for phone/online enquiries
  • Bicycle assembly and light mechanical work on the side, such as tube and tyre replacement
  • Stock management, including inwards goods and stocktakes
  • Product merchandising and maintaining store presentation
  • Opening and/or closing the store on rostered days, including short, unsupervised periods (an hour or two) at the start or end of the day and end-of-day lock-up
  • Supporting day-to-day store operations as required


What we're looking for:


  • Solid retail sales experience, ideally in a customer-facing role
  • Good knowledge of bikes and riding, whether through work, racing or just your own riding
  • Comfortable being trusted with sole charge of the store, including opening, closing and cash handling
  • Reliable and available to work the Saturday shift every week, plus flexibility across weekdays
  • Clear communication skills and a professional, can-do attitude


Previous bike shop experience is an advantage, but not essential for the right person with the right attitude and riding knowledge.
